Section I, Club Rules.

1. No member of the breed club should speak poorly of another member without warrant. Ex., bringing up that you “don’t like” another member is inappropriate, but discussing your discomfort with another member who has taken on improper breeding practices is fine.
2. Events are not to be solely of the breed club leader’s choice; others within the club can ask for specific events to be hosted.
3. Health testing through the breed club is advised, and it costs very little. Take advantage of it before breeding any Câine de Castel. Color testing is available as well.

Section II, Breeding.

1. No one shall breed a Câine de Castel to any other breed (to make designer breeds, cross breeds, or “doodle”-mixes) unless an outcross program is sorely needed and decided upon by the leaders of the Breed Club. Anyone found to cross their Câine de Castel to another breed shall be removed from the Breed Club.
2. The purposeful breeding of lily (albino) is frowned upon due to the inherent health complications that come with albinism. Anyone breeding for lily/albinism will be removed from the Breed Club. The instance of an otherwise healthy, non-albino pair throwing one or two albino pups does not apply to this situation; said albino pups will be placed on a spay/neuter contract and pet-homed.
3. The purposeful breeding of tan-pointed, saddle tan, or true irish-marked dogs is frowned upon and should not be done. These colors are not a part of the breed standard and are only made possible by outcrossing with collies and german shepherds. See rule 1.
Dogs of ill temperament (fearful, defiant, inappropriately aggressive, worriers of sheep or cows or other livestock, man-biters, dog-killers) shall not be bred. Guarding and protection instinct are innate within the breed, but poor demeanor is not.
4. The breeding of “fad” colors (isabella, true agouti, tan points) is frowned upon and should not be done. These colors have never existed within the breed and would have come from mixing with another breed or improper breeding.
5. No Câine de Castel is to be docked or cropped, nor are any of its offspring, unless in cases of dire injury to the extremity warranting the procedure.
Section III, Sales.

1. Most Câini de Castel are not to be sold into a small “kennel” environment (6x6 or 8x8 enclosures, all-of-life) and should instead be given the duty of protecting their owners property. They do not wander or “run away” very often, but should be fenced in appropriately.
2. All Câine de Castel pups should enter their new homes only after age eight weeks, but ten weeks is preferred.
3. Any dogs with more than two minor faults and/or one major fault and/or one disqualifying fault will be sold with limited rights; they will not be further bred. This applies to albinos as well.
4. Câini de Castel should not often be sold into apartment-style homes due to the lack of appropriate space. Calm, non-guarding, friendly, or lazy dogs may be pet-homed (limited rights) to these homes if desired by the breeder.
5. No Câine de Castel shall ever be sold to a broker or pet store under any circumstances.

Section IV, OOC.

Please don't heavily edit dogs in PS or any other program, stick to very minimal editing such as softening/fuzzifying areas that look sharp or blocky, giving the outline of the dog some texture, and things of that nature. Also, please don't change coat/color once it's been creative. That's all! <3
If all of these conditions can be agreed upon, go ahead and apply here.
